3-alarm fire damages Summit physical therapy center


SUMMIT — A three-alarm fire damaged a physical therapy center early Thursday but did not cause any injuries, authorities said.

The fire broke out at STAR Physical Therapy on Broad Street shortly before 5:30 a.m., Summit officials said. Fire Chief Eric Evers said the fire was contained to one therapy room and the attic.

The three-alarm fire was out by 6:20 a.m., officials said. Evers said no other buildings were damaged.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze. 

The Millburn, Springfield, Union, Westfield, New Providence and Berkeley Heights fire departments helped put out the fire.
